Hiking
Hiking is one of my favorite things to do on the weekends. I usually bring a pocket camera with me when hiking, but I don't always take pictures. Occasionally I take the time to upload selected photos to this album.
The San Francisco Bay Area is a hiker's paradise because of its close proximity the many mountain ranges as well as the Pacific Ocean. The different micro climates in this area offer unparalleled geological and biological diversity, as well as large number of fascinating animal species. I like it all - everything from the redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Ponderosa Pines of the high Sierras, the lovely oaks in the foothills of Mount Hamilton to the desert landscape of the Eastern Sierras. The breathtaking beauty of Yosemite National Park is only three and a half hours away by car. The options are endless, and there are always new parks and trails to explore.
